Residents of Northriding in Johannesburg are threatening to take to the streets if their electricity woes are not resolved soon. City Power has acknowledged the challenge of trying to restore electricity in the area after blackouts, leaving some residents without power for up to ten or more hours. City Power blames it all on a go-slow by Eskom employees. The company has postponed indefinitely a meeting with residents initially scheduled for today, and this has only fuelled growing tensions. eNCA's senior journalist Aviwe Mtila spoke to the local councilor and filed this report.
