Pertanian Thailand bisa dikatakan menjadi raja di ASEAN mengalahkan Indonesia. Padahal Thailand belajar banyak dari Indonesia terutama di era Soeharto menjadi presiden.
Buktinya menurut Institute for Developement of Economic (INDEF) menilai sektor pertanian Indonesia sudah jauh tertinggal dari Thailand. Padahal, luas lahan di Thailand jauh lebih sempit dibanding Indonesia.Bukti lainnya berdasarkan data World Stock Export, dari 15 negara eksportir pangan, Thailand berada di peringkat ke-2 di bawah Vietnam.
Menurut Indef ekspor Thailand sangat tinggi sebab produksi banyak dan penduduknya sedikit. Thailand juga mampu mengelola stabilitas pangan di dalam negeri. Ekspor dia terhadap GDP lebih tinggi, penerimaan dia dari jualan ke luar negeri sisi total relatif secara stabilitas.
