Four Ukrainian regions controlled by Russia are holding referendums on joining Russia, from today to Tuesday. Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia represent about 15% of Ukraine territory. A survey released by Russian media, says the support rate for joining Russia is around 80% in all four regions. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called it an opportunity for people in those regions to express their views. Ukraine has made it clear it will not recognize the results. So have several Western leaders.
