GST was introduced in 2017 with an aim of One Nation and One Tax and to provide free flow of traffic and ease of business. After the implementation of GST, all the states were advised to remove their border check posts. But as they are a major source of under-table income and corruption, many states are reluctant to remove them. This is evident from the fact that even the states with the same party government as in the center are not removing them. Many letters were issued by center to states to remove border check posts.
