Sandra Tsing Loh shares insight on the writing and production of "The Loh Down on Science," her popular Southern California Public Radio program. During the 2009 California Broadcast Journalism Fellowship program, television, radio and multimedia journalists gathered in downtown Los Angeles to hear Loh's keynote address, "How to Explain the Universe in 90 Seconds." During this behind-the-scenes briefing, Loh described the creative process that she and her production team use to boil down complex topics and serve up humorous, accurate, and easily digestible radio reports.
"The Loh Down on Science" offers daily proof that health and science education can coexist with humor. Her 90-second spots reach audiences at more than 100 radio stations nationwide, and through the Armed Forces Radio Network, the program is heard in more than 179 countries around the world.
