Huawei s Honor is gearing up to launch a new smartphone later this week on October 11. If reports are to be believed, the upcoming device could be the Honor 8C. Now, a new rumor has surfaced online revealing the chipset under the hood.
As per the rumor, the Honor 8C will be the first smartphone in the world to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632chipset, PhoneRadar reports. This chipset was first unveiled at MWC Shanghai 2018in June this year. As the name suggests, this new chipset is the successor to the Snapdragon 626.
Snapdragon 632 is built using the 14-nm FinFET process, and is said to offer 40 percent performance improvement over the Snapdragon 626. It features an octa-core CPU with eight Kryo 250 cores. Of these, four are performance cores with maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz, and the remaining four are efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset is paired with Adreno 506 GPU.

The Honor 8C was recently spotted on TENAA ahead of the official launch. The listing gave us a glimpse at the device s key features and specifications. Besides the chipset, the Honor 8C is likely to feature a 6.26-inch HD+ (1520×720 pixels) display with a notch at the top.
The smartphone will also feature 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal memory, 3,800mAh battery, dual-camera setup at the back with 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors, and lastly an 8-megapixel selfie sensor at the front. On the software front, the device is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI.
