Sometimes you need to change a mousse the morning of a ride in a parking lot without all the mousse specific kool kids shop tools cause the Rabicinda’s at home with your Bead Buddies and the other tricky tire and mousse bits.
Don’t sweat it though, you totally got this.
Hopefully you’ve at least got yourself two long curved tire irons, those are pretty essential here.
And if not you’d do well now to grab some to have in your truck or field tool kit.
You could also do this with standard levers if you had a little scrap of wood or 2x4 to improvise a little MacGyver set up.
We presume you know how to get the mousse lubed up, in the tire, the first bead installed and now we’re at the tricky part at the end of seating the rim lock.
Everything went well except for the bead sliding all the way under the rim lock there at the end, so we had Joel with his new Vans stand on the tire right at the lock and press the tire and flex it under the lock and get that bead to finally snick into place.
Success. A parking kit mousse with standard tire tools. It can totes be done, cause if mouth breathing dirt bikers like us can do it so can you🤘🏽🤘🏽
