If sliding the lure retriever on the line doesn't work you can always toss it.
First you have to lift the rod high to see if you can see where and to what the lure is hooked,if that is possible you can easily estimate where to toss the lure retriever.
Lure not visible then you have to lift the rod tip high so that you can get the angle that forms between your line and the bottom is as close as possible to 90°, that way you will be able to estimate where exactly your lure might be. Then lower the tip and toss the lure retriever over your line as close as possible to where the lure you think is located. Lift the rod tip high again and start slowly to bring the lure retriever toward you. repeat till you succeed.
