What Is Pulpotomy?
A pulpotomy is a baby root canal. So, if we have a cavity that's gone or at, or close to the nerve in a baby tooth, we don't do a full root canal that goes down all the way to the tip of the roots. We clean out just the top portion of the tooth and this is just one way of keeping the tooth vital, so that you can keep it in the end for the life of the tooth, maybe. So, your child might be six or seven but the tooth needs to be done at nine or ten. So, we go in and do this mini root canal. It's a very short procedure. It does require local anesthetic to do it but it's a very short procedure and it's the only way that we're able to maybe, have the ability to keep tooth to stay vital throughout the life...
