The entry of sun into Adra Nakshatra is considered auspicious for rains. This year Adra started on June 22nd and will remain till July 6th. Aadra(आद्रा) is called Adra(अदरा) in BIhar. The tradition of offering kheer and mango to God and also of having thali(plate) with kheer, dalpoori(chickpea lentil stuffer pooris), mango and sabji is followed in Bihar, so that God bless us with good rains.
