History Textbooks in schools and colleges give the dating of Rig Veda as 1200 BCE, based on a very arbitrary opinion of Max Müller, the noted German Indologist,

… not backed by scientific analysis or reliable data. We therefore reject this dating.

Instead, we offer an alternative logical approach based on painstaking research by two famous Vedic scholars - one Indian Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and the other german Prof. Hermann Jacoby

- using astronomical evidence found in Rig Veda itself …

… according to which it has emerged that the dating of Rig Veda is 4000-4500 BCE, i.e., it is 6,000-6,500 years old!
