Shuttlesource presents the landing of the shuttle training aircraft prior to the landing of the STS-117 Space shuttle mission. The Gulfstream aircraft is a specially modified aircraft designed to simulated the space shuttle landing qualities. Here you see the approach to Edwards AFB in California.
Shuttlesource is a space shuttle video archive featuring rare and exclusive video from the program’s 30-year history. Relying on private and NASA sourced video, this is a project to restore and digitize this historical treasure for all to enjoy.
With over 1,000 hours of video still to be released, the video archive will offer perspective on every shuttle mission from astronaut training, briefings, mission operations, orbiter preparations and news media coverage as a snapshot in time.
