The motto of Warsaw's presidency of the EU Council will be "Security, Europe", said Polish Minister for European Union Affairs Adam Szlapka. From January 1, 2025, Poland will take over the six-month rotating presidency of the EU Council, one of the key institutions of the European Union. Warsaw's priorities are strengthening the security of the European Union and supporting Ukraine, the Polish government said.
