France is home to some of the best universities in the world, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2021 Best Global Universities rankings.

The top French school is Paris Sciences et Lettres - PSL University, which ranks No. 25 overall and is the fifth-highest ranked university in Continental Europe. PSL is a public research university that was founded in 2010 and consists of 10 member institutions, including four grandes écoles: École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay, Chimie ParisTech, Mines ParisTech and Observatoire de Paris.

Other high-ranking French schools include Pierre and Marie Curie University (No. 33), Polytechnique Montréal (No. 36), Ecole Polytechnique (No. 38) and Grenoble Alpes University (No. 44).

As international students look for the best place to study abroad, many are turning to France.
