With 60% of the world's uncultivated arable land, sizeable water reserves and a youthful population, the African continent has the potential to increase agricultural productivity. As Africa's population is increasing at a phenomenal pace, the continent needs to sustainably intensify agricultural production for small-scale as well as commercial farmers in order to be food secure.
