Actor Patrick Fabian ("Better Call Saul") shows his looping mastery in this ADR session for his new film "DriverX," coming to theaters and On Demand November 30, 2018, through IFC Films/Sundance Selects.
ADR (Automatic Dialogue Replacement) or Looping is the process of replacing specific lines of dialogue that were originally recorded on set. Those original recordings maybe weren't recorded all that well or have other issues, so the actor tries to match the speed and cadence, as well as the emotion of the original recording, and a dialogue editor will take out the original audio and replace it with the best take. Movie magic!
"DriverX" is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Henry Barrial (also in the video) and is about a middle-aged stay-at-home dad who starts driving for an Uber-like rideshare company to help support his working wife and two kids.
