How rich is Qatar? Qatar is mentioned tops here for good reasons. The Arabian Peninsula country with terrain comprising arid desert is definitely rich. With a long Persian or Arab Gulf shoreline filled with beaches and dunes, it is about 100 miles in length and 50 miles in width. The land surface is 4416 square miles long. Qatar’s south border with Saudi Arabia is about 37 miles long.

Not many countries can compete with Qatar in terms of wealth. The country’s economy is robust, thanks to the rich oil deposit as a natural resource. Qatar’s well-organized and functional petroleum sector contributes about 85% of the country’s export and 70% of its total revenue. Proved natural gas reserves of Qatar are in excess of 25 trillion cubic meters which constitutes some 13% of the world total. This is the third-largest gas deposit in the world. Also, proved oil reserves in Qatar is over 25 billion barrels.
