In this video, I’m going to show you how to make milopita — a Greek apple cake.
Milopita is a Greek apple cake made with olive oil, yogurt and apples. Scented with the heady aroma of cinnamon — I indulge you in enjoying a slice for breakfast or as an afternoon treat.
First up, prepare the dry ingredients. In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and apples.
In another bowl, whisk the yogurt, eggs, olive oil and vanilla.
Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix until just combined.
Finally, pour the milopita cake batter into a baking tin and cook it for 35 minutes (check by inserting a skewer or toothpick comes out dry in the centre of the cake).
After the milopita has cooled, dust it with icing sugar and serve it with whipped cream or ice cream.
