The anti-racist social work steering group – led by representatives from the Principal Social Worker networks for both adults and children and families, What Works for Children’s Social Care and Social Work England – has launched an anti-racism survey. The survey aims to understand the prevalence, impact and general awareness of racism in social work.
In this video, Farrah Khan MBE and Sharon Davidson (co-chairs of the Principal Child and Family Social Worker (PCFSW) network), chat with Ahmina Akhtar and Sarah Blackmore (Social Work England) to discuss the survey and steering group, why it's important, and how social workers can get involved.
Social workers of all ethnicities, working in different positions and sectors, are being encouraged to complete the survey. It will inform an action plan on next steps for the profession.
