When a shinobi takes the chunin exams, if it’s held in Konoha, they have to go through the forest of death, this insane training ground where as the name implies even the most skilled shinobi can die if they aren’t careful, but as we saw in naruto part 1, Gaara and his siblings set the record for the forest of death by beating the exam in ninety seven minutes, a full four hours faster than the previous record holder, but who was it? Well, that person was Itachi Uchiha, who set the record when he took the chunin exams at age ten, but here’s the thing, unlike the sand siblings, Itachi took the exam ALONE signing a waiver that Itachi’s father and Danzo got Hiruzen to agree to, because Itachi’s sensei refused to recommend his team according to the itachi story of daylight. Even crazier, is that Itachi could have finished the exam faster, but he was so shocked at the gap between himself and the other candidates that he was certain this was the wrong test and proceeded to hunt down other teams to battle looking for stronger opponents before eventually getting bored and going to the exam tower with extra scrolls.
