As we look forward, ever more of the major challenges we face as a planet will have solutions, or parts of solutions, from space. We have seen orders of magnitude of change in the space sector in the last decade but the changes in the coming decades will dwarf these. From an era focussed on developing low-Earth orbit constellations for connectivity, observation, and positioning, the space industry is now moving to a phase focussed on capitalising on those constellations to deliver growth and societal benefit. Alongside this, we are about to enter an unprecedented era of infrastructure and economic development in space based on building new, large infrastructure in space for next generation services and beginning an in-orbit economy. There are ambitious, generation-shaping, opportunities on the horizon. This session provides an overview of the space sector and outline the opportunities and potential ahead for those interested in the sector.
Hosted by Bayes X (Centre for Innovation and Disruption) in collaboration with Sam Adlen, thought leader in space and a Bayes X fellow.
Speakers include:
Sam Adlen – Chief Strategy Officer – Satellite Applications, Catapult
Claire Barcham – UKSA Strategy Director
Manny Shar – UK MD – Orbit Fab
