Unboxing the Realme 5, with a full hands-on review of the ColorOS UI, specs and features. This €169 budget smartphone is one of the best of 2020 under £200, as far as the hardware goes. You get a whopping 5000mAh battery (on par with the Moto G7 Power), quad lens camera tech and a bright 6.5-inch IPS screen. One of my favourite cheap mobiles of 2019 was the Realme 3 Pro, so I'm hoping the Realme 5 (and spin-offs the 5s and Pro) will be just as good. Stay tuned for a full review, coming in a week or so.
Android 10 is sadly still not here, but the ColorOS 6 launcher adds some funky features like swipe navigation and face recognition. You get a Snapdragon 665 platform backed by 3 or 4GB of RAM, for smooth everyday performance - although the gaming chops may be somewhat limited. And the Realme 5 also serves up some feature-packed camera action, with a wide angle, macro and depth sensor backing up the 12MP primary lens.
Have you been using the new Realme smartphones? Let us know your thoughts below and stick around for my best budget phones round-ups, coming in 2020.
