Jasper National Park is one of the most gorgeous, protected pieces of wilderness in the world, attracting about 2.5 million visitors every year. But there are now fears for the community's future as a devastating wildfire threatens it.

It’s believed that up to half of the structures in the townsite of Jasper have been damaged by the fire, but all critical infrastructure has been saved.

Eric Sorensen looks at what makes Jasper so exceptional, and the hope that its beauty can be rebuilt once the smoke clears.
