The Kenya Defence Forces troops in somalia and their counterparts from the African Union Mission in Somalia AMISOM might extend their stay in Somalia should the security situation in the country demand that. Speaking at a handing over ceremony where Brand Kenya presented over 5,000 letters for the KDF soldiers in Somalia from Kenyans, the Chief of Defence Forces General Julius Karangi said that even though the troops mandate in Somalia ends on the 31st of October, the troops might extend their stay.
