Tristan Jarry was activated off of injured reserve, and tonight against the Islanders was his first game back since January 22nd. The Penguins got on the board first with a goal from Jake Guentzel. The 1st period ended in a 1-0 Penguins lead. Brock Nelson tallies a point for the Islanders and even the score at 1-1 with 14:41 left in the middle frame. Jason Zucker takes the lead back for the Penguins with a power-play goal with 7:34 left in the 2nd period. After a grade-A scoring chance for the Penguins and a stellar save from Islanders netminder, Ilya Sorokin, nearly every player on the ice got involved in a skirmish. 14 individual penalty calls were assessed, including 10-minute misconducts for both Jason Zucker and the Islanders’ Ross Johnston. The middle frame ended 2-1, Penguins. In the 3rd period, Bo Horvat scored to make it 2-2 with 11:26 left in the game. Just a few minutes later Anders Lee scored and the Islanders take their first lead of the game. With 24.2 seconds left in the game, Brock Nelson scored again for the Islanders, and they win the game 4-2.
