Lords Of Thunder Review - It's MORE Than a Soundtrack! (PC Engine). Today we look at one of the most popular shoot em' up (shmup) on the PC Engine / Turbografx 16, Lords Of Thunder (aka Winds of Thunder) made by Company Red! This game is absolutely famous for its metal, rock, power metal, guitar music ost. In fact I often here about this game's music and CD quality more than the actual game. So in today's review rather than going on about how great the music is (though I do like the music a lot), I will be examing the 16-bit shmup itself and seeing how it holds up in terms of gameplay. If you are a fan of the Thunder Force series, or other Sega Genesis 16 bit shmups, Like MUSHA, then I think Lords of Thunder is going to be really awesome to check out. If you are a newer player this game is absolutely made for you, but it also has some nice versatility at the higher difficulty as well for more experienced arcade players. The sword mechanic is very cool, but it's a shame it didn't get more development and use.
