Deworming drugs are considered to be the safest for puppies. However, after deworming, the puppy may experience some of the following negative effects:
Bloody stool — If you notice blood in your puppy's stool, don't be alarmed; this is a common symptom of worms detaching from the intestines. Consult your veterinarian if the bloody stool lasts longer than three days.
Diarrhea - Puppies may have diarrhea following deworming. It occurs as a result of the worms' unlatching from the intestines, which causes inflammation. If the diarrhea just lasts a few days, your puppy should be alright.
Lethargy - Due to the discomfort caused by diarrhea, the puppy may not be as playful as usual following deworming. During this time, make sure they get lots of drink to avoid dehydration.
