(3 Jun 2021) Dozens of anti-coup protesters held a flash mob rally on Thursday in Yangon, Myanmar's most populous city.
They flashed the three-fingered salute as they chanted pro-democracy slogans.
Resistance to Myanmar's military rule remains widespread four months after civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi was removed from power on 1 February.
Quickly dispersing flash mobs have replaced mass demonstrations in previous months because of the deadly response of security forces.
According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, 842 protesters and bystanders have been killed by security personnel since the military takeover.
The association, which keeps a detailed tally of arrests and deaths since the military takeover, says more than 4,400 people are in detention, including 133 who have already been sentenced.
