AB = CD = 12 cm and
BC = AD = 5 cm
Construction:-
Step 1: Draw a rough sketch.
From the rough sketch, as shown in Fig., it is clear that the required quadrilateral is made up of two triangles ABC and ADC , with side AC common:
Step 2: Draw a line segment AC = 13 cm
Step 3: With A as centre and radius 12 cm, draw an arc. (above the line)
Step 4: With C as centre and radius 5 cm, draw another arc to intersect the previous arc at B. Join AB and CB.
Step 5: With A as centre and radius equal to 5 cm, draw an arc. (below the line)
Step 6: With C as centre and radius equal to 12 cm, draw another arc to intersect the previously drawn arc at D. Join CD and AD.
Thus, ABCD is the required quadrilateral (Rectangle).
