In this video, I am going to explain what gallbladder sludge is, how it develops, and what to do about it.
Gallbladder sludge, sometimes called biliary sludge, can cause abdominal pain and discomfort, especially after meals.
Gallbladder sludge is also associated with upper back pain, right shoulder pain, nausea, and itchy skin.
Nestled between the intestines and the liver, the gallbladder serves as a reservoir for bile produced by the liver, releasing it into the intestines to promote digestion of fats.
When the gallbladder fails to completely empty, components of bile such as cholesterol, minerals, and amino acids can settle out, forming a thick, sticky substance commonly called gallbladder sludge.
If left untreated, gallbladder sludge may develop into gallstones.
Gallbladder sludge is frequently discovered during ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI scans.
In this video, I am going to show you how to find and activate two acupressure points that are traditionally used to improve gallbladder emptying and reduce sludge.
