ARMANI STARS IN FILM STUDIO SETTING

Designer Giorgio Armani, the man who put the "Moda Milanese" on the international fashion map, presented his Autumn/Winter styles in a modern film studio on the outskirts of the northern Italian city.
His glamorous collection focused on the feminine silhouette, achieved by cutting the fabrics on the bias. "I want to once again give importance to these clothes, which are made of silk with embroidered Chinese designs," he said. Armani is also launching a new perfume, "Acqua di Gio". Designer Mila Schon also concentrated on strong lines, featuring tight-waisted silhouettes, soft fabrics in strong colours and graphic effects, including optical patterns. Her Bustiers and
short skirts were the order of the day. Jackets were double-faced
and classically cut; hemlines on skirts stayed above the knee and
necklines plunged on blouses. The use of double face fabric with different colours acted as an optical illusion. For evening wear, velvet and satin were used to create a pony skin effect - and once again, colours were used for optical effect.
