I've said this a few times here on my channel, but I'm semi-new to modular type synths. But even I know a Moog DFAM & Moog Mother-32 - those they look really similar & have similar capabilities to some extent, are very different synths.
I've recently been looking for a Drum synth to pair with my Korg Arp 2600. So I ended up ordering a Moog DFAM from this local Austin, TX music shop that was selling thru Amazon. I was so excited to get the Moog DFAM. But when I opened the box, I ended up receiving the Moog Mother-32 in its place. I was pretty confused & annoyed at first. Because this is obviously a huge mistake. And I will be sending it back to get the right synth hopefully. Haha. But I did end up opening up the Mother-32 to see what was inside & what it came with. I also did film an unboxing video that I'll be uploading soon here just for the people who might be interested in what the Mother-32 synth comes with. Definitely keep you eye open for that. The Moog Mother-32 is still an amazing synth & it was in my top 5 synths to possibly get. But I ultimately decided I wanted to Moog DFAM for it's more fine tuning drumming capabilities. Which I still think is the right option for me for right now. But I may try to play around with the Mother-32 a tiny bit before I send it back just to try it out & possibly film a little jam session. Either way, I hope I can get this issue resolved soon so I can get the one I actually wanted. Haha.
