"Everything I Own" was written by David Gates and recorded by the rock band Bread for their 1972 album "Baby I'm-a Want You". Boy George recorded a laid back, understated reggae version of the song in 1987 which was his first number one hit as a solo performer post Culture Club. It was a number one hit in the UK and Canada.
