In Excel numbers can be ranked using RANK.EQ and RANK.AVG functions. The RANK.EQ function returns the rank of a number in a list of numbers. The rank is nothing but the position of a number in a list of numbers sorted. The function allows you to rank the numbers in either descending order or ascending order.
