The gaudiness and audacity of the early 80s affected everything, including Saturday Morning Cartoons. A strong example of this aesthetic infiltrating animation is the focus of today’s #NTVFlashback: Kidd Video. This series was about a rock band pulled into an alternate dimension; that dimension, the Flip Side, looked like MTV vomited onto the backdrop. It’s big draw, however, was the appearance of a current popular music and videos woven into the story’s narrative. This show could never be re-released in this day and age, as the music rights would cost a fortune.
