Recently, there has been an enormous rise of Samoan-heritage wingers within the infamous Super 14 competition. From Crusader's little pocket rocket, Afato So'oialo to the chiropractor Brian Lima, to the new generation of Wallabies Digby Ioane, Chiefs flyer Lelia Masaga and Brumbies speedster Francis Fa'anifo, just to name a few.
One of the most notable wingers that has been missing in action recently was former Wellington Hurricanes flyer Lome Fa'atau. The speedy winger, most recognisable by his traditional Samoan tattoo (pe'a), was the top try scorer of the 2006 Super 14 season.
At 34 year of age he is currently playing Rugby in Scotland with the Glasgow Warriors in the Magners League and is expected to complete his contract soon. Although he struggled to adapt his game to the Northern Hemisphere style in his first year, he has recently bounced back from an injury finding some rhythm scoring 7 tries in 15 games.
Although he had his ups and downs within his career, this short tribute gives you the best of his tries combining blistering pace, unpredictable skill and a flamboyant running style that made Lome Fa'atau an incredible match winner. Watch and Enjoy this fantastic compilation.
