This animation demonstrates head and neck movements involved in whiplash. It begins with a lateral view of a male head and neck subjected to the sudden forward and backward movements known as whiplash, first mild then severe. These movements are repeated with the skeletal anatomy visible. They are repeated again with the skeletal anatomy in cross-section and the brain and spinal column visible. We see the impact sites on the front and back of the brain.
