Sometimes newer ain't necessarily better, it especially feels that way post-pandemic. But, we think that will apply to many sports cars made after 2020. Gas particulate filters, hybrid technology, heavy batteries, lack of physical buttons, all digital gauges, lack of manuals, and let's be clear all of this comes with higher prices, you name it is just seems like we're going backward some days in the enthusiast world. For this reason, we wanted to feature one of our all-time favorite sports cars the 2017 991.2 Porsche Turbo S, and give it a proper 40-minute review.
THIS is the 991.2 Turbo S review you need to watch if you're looking at making the move to purchase one. I think Gregg and myself covered just about everything you would want to know. And the fact is this, at an MSRP of $220k for a well-specced cabriolet like this one, you can right now buy this car for 35% off the list, often in like-new condition and fairly low miles.
So at $150,000, while still a lot of money, the 2017 to 2019 Turbo S starts to make a ton of sense. And if you can find the right Turbo (none S) with PCCBs and all the goodies, you can save upwards of 50% of the list, and with a slight tune and some wheels have a car that would look as good and beat a Turbo S. In fact, these are compelling to me now that I'm considering one for the collection.
The fact is, you just can't beat this car. The 991.2 Porsche Turbo S just excels at basically everything. It looks great, has classic lines, is not too large or small, has plenty of performance, has a quality luxury interior with analog gauges and physical buttons, is comfortable for daily, has back seats and front truck, and it's not going to get you on law enforcements radar from hello. The 2017 Porsche Turbo S just checks all the boxes, and this one is a convertible which is extra fun.
Anyway, in this comprehensive 991.2 Turbo S review we cover it all from interior, exterior, truck, back seats, spirited POV drive and more. You get to hear from the owner Greg about his Porche journey and his thoughts about the Turbo S. If you liked this review and found it educational, drop a like and comment below.
