Community radio plays a significant role at the grass root levels for rural development. For instance, issues of poverty, gender inequality, education, social problems among others can be addressed by community radio in local language which can be received on receivers costing one dollar. Radio provides participatory communication techniques that supports agricultural extension by communicating directly with farmers and listeners’ groups. We will show in this presentation a few innovative uses which has resulted in significant impact in the areas of farming and education addressing directly SDG2030.
