China has unveiled its plan to build a lunar base, which will be the first extraterrestrial base in human history. The base will be located in natural caves on the moon's surface, with facilities such as solar fields and communication stations on the lunar surface. The plan involves using ground penetrating bombs to blast out or expand existing caves, followed by the landing of lunar landers as core warehouses and the construction of sub bay sections within the caves. This design offers advantages such as protection from meteorite impacts and solar radiation, as well as utilizing the insulation properties of lunar soil. The base will include core cabins, work cabins, plant cabins, and material cabins, while communication facilities and solar fields will be located on the lunar surface. The construction of the lunar base aims to provide infrastructure for future space exploration and utilization while offering a stable living environment for scientific research and human activities. China's Chang'e 6 mission, planned for 2024, will play a role in the exploration and selection of suitable lunar caves for the base.
