The history of Gunn Park in Fort Scott, Kansas was presented at a Chamber Coffee event by Rhonda Dunn, President of the Historical Preservation Association (HPA) of Bourbon County.

Gunn Park is the largest community park in Kansas, according to Dunn, at 155 acres with 7 shelter houses, 2 lakes, 18-hole disc golf, and 6.5 miles of trails for mountain biking and hiking. The Marmaton River runs through the back side of the park which is also available for kayaking or canoeing.

KDWPT releases trout into the two lakes annually making for great fishing!
