Ingredient's:-
500 gm/4 pc Tilapia Fish (washed well),
2 medium size Onion Paste,
1 medium size Chopped Tomato,
Ginger Paste,
Garlic Paste,
Turmeric Powder,
Chilli Powder,
Tamarind Water,
3-4 Sliced Green Chillies,
Cumin Powder,
Roasted Masala
Salt & Sugar as per taste and Mustard Oil
Methods of how to make Tilapia Macher Jhal:
1. Clean and wash the fish properly then slice the body.
2. After slicing add 1/4 tsp Salt, 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder. Mix well and put it aside for 10 mins.
3. Now heat up a kadai and add Mustard Oil.
4. When the oil heats up fry the fish.
5. Fry all the fish well on both sides and take them out.
6. After frying keep 4 tbsp. Oil in the kadai.
7. Add 2 medium size Onion Paste. Fry the onion for 3-4 mins on medium flame.
8. After frying add 2 tsp Ginger Paste, 1 tsp Garlic Paste.
9. Then fry for another 2 mins on medium flame.
10. After frying turn the flame to low and add 1 tsp Cumin Powder, 1 tsp Chilli Powder (as per taste), 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder,1/2 tsp Salt (as per taste), 1/4 tsp Sugar (as per taste),2-3 tbsp. Water and cook the masala till oil comes out of it.
11. Cook for 2-3 mins on medium flame and add 1 medium size Chopped Tomato.
12. Then cover and cook for 3 mins.
13. After 3 mins stir continuously and cook on high flame for a minute.
14. Now add 3 tbsp. Tamarind Water (as per taste), 1 cup Water, 4 Sliced Green Chillies.
15. Cook on high flame.
16. When the gravy starts boiling add the fried Fish in it. Cover and cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
17. After 5 mins take off the lid and flip the fish.
18. Then again cover and cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
19. After another 5 mins turn the flame to high.
20. Add 1/4 tsp Roasted Masala and cook for 1 minute on high flame.
21. Turn off your oven and let it rest for 5 mins.
22. Then serve it hot with Rice.
