One of the largest banks in the world, Bank of America, made a bold claim earlier today, stating that they intend to offer all employees at least $25 an hour by the year 2025.
Sheri Bronstein, the firm’s top human resources officer, explained: “A core tenet of responsible growth is our commitment to being a great place to work which means investing in the people who serve our clients.”
She continued: “That includes providing strong pay and competitive benefits to help them and their families, so that we continue to attract and retain the best talent.”
After completing their mission to offer employees $20 an hour last year, BofA is hoping to pay out four or five times the minimum wage in some states with their $25 hourly initiative.
It’s great to see these big banks finally offering their employees a liveable wage, and Bank of America might be the perfect job for any of y’all in need of new employment.
Meanwhile, with upwards of 21 states looking to end the extended enhanced unemployment benefits early, it’s nice to see some parts of America offering citizens with bonus checks for reentering the job marketplace .
Here are 3 states that are paying their employees a back to work bonus to help ease the blow of losing unemployment benefits.
First, Connecticut has stated that they plan on offering a $1,000 back to work bonus.
Next, Montana is planning to pay out $1,200 stimulus checks to unemployed citizens as they return to work.
Finally, the best state for going back to work? Arizona, where they are providing new employees with $2,000 stimulus checks.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey explained: “In Arizona, we’re going to use federal money to encourage people to work…instead of paying people not to work.”
While I wish that these states would offer extended enhanced unemployment benefits until the current September deadline, it’s nice to know that some places are doing the right thing and offering employees back to work bonus stimulus checks.
Finally, after yesterday’s Tax Day, roughly 7.3 million Americans are set to receive the highly anticipated $10,200 unemployment tax break in the coming weeks.
According to a new report from the Treasury Department: About 7.3 million tax returns processed by the IRS as of early March seem to qualify for the exemption, representing a collective $87 billion in jobless aid.
The IRS explained: "The IRS will take steps in the spring and summer to make the appropriate change to their return, which may result in a refund. The first refunds are expected to be made in May and will continue into the summer."
This is great news for millions of Americans across the country, who will finally receive the long overdue $10,200 unemployment tax credit in the form of a refund from the IRS.
