Ingredients:
For the meatballs:
300 grams ground pork
5 cloves of garlic
½ medium red onion
1 small carrot (minced)
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 egg
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
For the misua soup
3 cloves of garlic
½ medium red onion
5 cups of water
Chicken broth (dissolved in 1 cup hot water)
1 egg
100 grams misua noodles
½ teaspoon ground pepper
2 tablespoons fish sauce
½ teaspoon ground pepper
Green onions (chopped)
Directions:
For the meatballs mixture, combine the ground pork, small carrots, red onions, garlic, ground pepper, salt, oyster sauce and cornstarch. Crack the egg and then mix them until well combined.
Wear some gloves and then grease them with some oil. Scoop around 1 to 2 spoons of the mixture and then roll them into a ball. Do this to the rest of the mixture.
Heat a lot of oil in a pot. Fry the meatballs in batches until golden brown. Transfer them to a strainer or paper towel to drain excess oil. Set aside.
In another pan, heat some oil. Add the garlic, onions and saute for a few minutes until aromatic. Then, add 5 to 7 cups of water. Let it boil.
In a small bowl, dissolve the chicken broth cube. Then, add this to the same pan and stir well.
Once the broth is boiling, beat one egg and then pour gently while stirring. Add the fried meatballs and stir a bit.
Lastly, add the misua noodles and gently push them downwards to submerge in the broth and cook. Cover the pan and simmer for 4 minutes. Once the noodles are cooked, season with some fish sauce, pepper and chopped green onions.
Transfer the misua soup with noodles to a serving bowl. You can enjoy this as it is or have it with some hot steaming rice. Yum!
