Recently I got a message on Facebook from a local contractor asking if I could get this 1975 F600 dump truck he had purchased back on the road so that he could use it for his contracting business. Although my plan since starting this channel has been to take on more customer repair work and eventually do that full time, I didn't plan on doing so right away. But, when opportunity knocks you need to open that door, so I converted Old Blue, my 1985 GMC Jimmy restomod, into my temporary service truck and went to work. That being said, here is Part 1 of my repair and revival of this cool, classic dump truck that's been unemployed for awhile. All I really knew about it going in was that the brakes weren't working and that it wasn't running very well. After a quick visit to meet Andrew and take a quick look at the truck, I determined that at a minimum it needed a leaking wheel cylinder replaced to get the brakes working, a carburetor rebuild, and a general tune up to get it running right.
Can I get it up and running and back on the road?
A big thank you to Andrew at Kingdom Handyman LLC for trusting me to get this workhorse back up and running for you! If you happen to be in Northeastern WY and need some construction work done, please get ahold of Andrew and see what he can do for you!
