In 2007 American author Cassandra Clare settled down to pen the first words of The Mortal Instruments — a fantasy adventure about a teenage girl who discovers she is half human and half angel. Little did she know then that she was embarking on a series of books that would be adapted into a movie!
FILMCLUB reporter Caroline spoke to Cassandra to find out what inspired the story and how she worked with the film's scriptwriter and costume designer to help recreate her vision.
