The Prime Minister has again been drawn into the sports rorts saga, after revelations funding decisions were changed the day last year's election was called and after correspondence with Scott Morrison's office.
The grants scandal triggered fiery clashes in Senate estimates on Monday, during which Labor Senator Penny Wong accused former sports minister Bridget McKenzie of "backdating" a document - an allegation the government has vehemently denied.
The national audit office claimed Sport Australia received the final list of projects hours before a revised version was sent with one project removed and nine projects added.
The audit office claimed those changes were made after correspondence with the prime minister’s office.
