Randy.: Hey guys. It's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at some cargo's smart ratchet straps. Now these are two inches wide by 12 feet long and they're designed to work with X-Track or with E-Track from Erickson. With Erickson, it can be the horizontal or the vertical. With the E-Track it's kind of made both ways in one.
So basically it's going to give us an excellent connection point which you can see here. This can be in the track this way or this way and it allows us to tie down or strap down any kind of cargo that we might have. The straps offer a thousand pounds safe working load limit and a 3000 pound brake strength. So they're ideally suited to strap down just about anything you'd want in a trailer up to that rating. So you've got to keep in mind, this is a two pack.So total the two straps can hold 2000 pounds worth of weight.
So say you have a 3,500 pound car you'll want to use four of them. 5,000 pound car you're going to want to use five or six of them. So you're meeting that requirement but overall, I think they're made really well. You can see here just a nice standard, pretty heavy duty type ratchet, not a lot of flex or give to it. If you had our release handle there, you can see our polyester webbing strap very, very similar to a seat belt material.
So it's nice and durable, real finely woven. You can see the cross stitching here giving us excellent reinforcement. And then the yellow zinc finish on the actual ratchet itself and on our connectors are going to really help to prevent any rust or corrosion. I like the handle with, things here it seems to be wider than what we get out of some two inch straps, really get your hand all the way in there even with gloves should be able to get your hand in there and gets a ratcheting power that you need to get everything nice and secure.No. Of course these straps aren't really the only thing available.
You could use your E-Track or X-Track with a standard rope ring, which is something very similar to this. So you can just connect your ratchet strap right to it there. And while these are very durable, very consistent in their quality, by adding this in the mix. It's just another point of potential failure there. And also if you know anything about ratchet straps or if you've used them. Generally, you'll get hooked on here and by the time you get it hooked on the other side, this one's come on done. So kind of chase them back and forth. I like that we don't have that issue at this connection point. We snap it right in. There's no movement or play in it and it gives us a direct connection point right to our tracks. We really don't have to worry about any additional points. And when it's all said and done and you're ready to release, you just push down our handle there, bring it all the way to the open position. You can see that very easily allows us to get our straps loosened up and quickly detached. Now when working with customers a very common question we get is how do I properly load my ratchet strap Or do I get the strap in. I like to go right in from the backside through that center barrel, pull a little bit out. I just pass it right back over. That means we can use this to cinch it down, get everything nice and snug and then take all of the, kind of the extra slack out with our ratchet there. So just bring it down and just like any other E-Track style connector, we're going to lift, slide it in, and push it back. So it's nice and secure. We pull our slack out and then use that ratchet to get the attention that we required it'll hold down an item.Once that's secured, just needed to tidy up our excess here. At that point, get the rest of our straps in place. Remember anytime you use ratchet straps, you always want to use at least two but overall I think it's going to be an excellent way to attach them. We won't have to chase them back and forth. And I like the E-Track, I like the X-Track. I think it's an excellent addition to any kind of trailer even garages and things, keep things up nice and tidy. And I think this works really well. This is definitely a ratchet strap that I would own and be very confident in using.
