With our team builds we are lucky to get the opportunity to test out new designs, and tweak them over a couple of different builds. This is version 3 of the primate hanger design and it has definitely evolved from the initial concept several years ago.
The feeding device features three sections which are held together with D-Shackles which allows the three parts to wobble when climbed on. This is then covered with firehose so that it doesn't become a risk for fingers. Through the centre is a long feeder in two parts, all joined together with swivel-shackles, allowing the feeder to spin. And then finally underneath are two mesh boxes, also attached with swivel-shackles.
These awesome feeders were created during a Team Build at Woburn Safari Park . The group created 8 feeders in the half day booking, and it really was a challenge for the groups to complete. The build came right down to the wire, but all 8 feeders have now been delivered to the animal department to use them where they like.
