EU의회, 올해 ‘사하로프 인권상’ 수상자에 ‘우크라 국민’
The people of Ukraine were declared the recipients of an EU freedom prize on Wednesday for their fight against Russia's invasion.
Called the Sakharov Prize,... the award is handed out by the European Parliament every year,... to those who defend freedom of thought and human rights.
The award comes with around 49-thousand U.S. dollars in prize money, which will be handed out to Ukrainian representatives.
The prize has been awarded every year since 1988,... and is named after the late Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov.
Notable past winners include late South African President Nelson Mandela and Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai.
